My Review:

This is the sort of book that kind of tugs real hard at your heart. It is a story of an autistic child and how difficult it is both for the caregivers and the child.... while going through life in the shadow of this unfortunate disease. Right from initial denial to accepting the diagnosis, to the rifts that the tension creates between two otherwise loving spouses, to the constant bullying that the child has to experience at the hands of the other 'normal' kids, to how the school system often turns a blind eye to special needs children..... everything came across as well researched and properly articulated.
The book is emotional ... it's a journey of self discovery, coming to terms with grief and letting go, to learning to care for an autistic child, to dealing with sudden job loss and redundancy, to seeing your vulnerable kid suddenly becoming independent and feeling a mix of both sadness and happiness.
Towards the middle of the book, it kind of gets a bit boring, because a lot of it talks about Minecraft... but maybe that's because I am not familiar with game.
However, soon after the story picks up once again, and you can feel being there inside the story as you see how the father learns how to enter his son's world and talk to him in a language he understands.
All in all, I would definitely recommend this book.
