The Binding, a Harry Potter fanfic

The Binding
Be one of us tonight. The five words that complete the binding ritual. The binding ritual bound a soul to oneself; it was essentially the opposite of a horcrux. The binding ritual added to one’s soul rather than dividing it. There’s a good side and a bad side to everything, and Harry realized that about magic when The Dark Lord killed his parents. Magic might be very useful, but it can be devastating as well.  In the days of old, a book on dark magic existed – ‘Dark Magick of the Evils’, written by Geoffery Wilson Gryffindor, who was Godric Gryffindor’s grandfather. A copy of this book existed until recently, when Harry destroyed the book and almost all dark magic with it. After Harry defeated Voldemort, everyone thought all was well. Harry and Ron skipped being part of the only Eighth Year class in Hogwarts’ history while Hermione did attend it. Harry and Ron went on to pursue their careers as Aurors. Amanda Hawkinson took over as Head of the Auror Office, post Gawain Robards’ untimely and mysterious death. Under Amanda’s leadership, Harry and Ron very quickly rose to the top of the ranks. After finally giving her NEWTs, Hermione was accepted into the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. After some time, she shifted over into the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. Meanwhile, Ron quit his job as an Auror to help his brother, George, manage the joke shop. Amanda Hawkinson was a very curious person. She always pestered Harry about his escape from death. Her curiousness in Harry was so evident that people started to speculate that Amanda had evil plans for Harry. One fine morning, these speculations became a reality, when Amanda assigned Harry a mission which required him to leave town. As Harry and his team set out for their journey, they all were abducted. After regaining consciousness, Harry and the others found themselves in the middle of a ritual site. With a copy of ‘Dark Magick of the Evils’, Amanda approached them and they started to see shadows burst out of her. After tying them up, Amanda started to perform the binding ritual. Harry desperately called for Hermione and Ron in his mind. Almost tauntingly, Amanda looked at him and said he could call for his friends as much as he wanted to; they wouldn’t arrive. She revealed that she was a rogue Death Eater seeking power, and after Harry defeated Voldemort, she wanted to be the won to capture Harry’s soul. As the ritual continued, Harry slowly lost consciousness, and he woke up to the sound of Madam Pomfrey’s snores and Hermione and Ron’s beaming smiles. What happened was this – Amanda had almost completed the ritual when Hermione and Ron arrived. They then fought her bravely, and after a long duel, they had Amanda cornered. Raising her Dagger of Shadows, she thrust it into herself and got sucked into the book. Together, Ron and Hermione managed to bring everyone into Hogwarts and thereby saved everyone. Hermione gave Harry the book and said that it was rightfully his to destroy. Harry burnt the book in Fiendfyre and the book was destroyed along with all dark magic. All of humanity was saved from a terror like Amanda. Once again, the trio prevailed over evil.
